I look so forward to being there. I've never been in a big rig or even very close to one and I'm still in awe watching people drive them.
LOL, you are going to enjoy it.
Just to answer an earlier question, yes, Prime has a secure long term lot where you can park while training. My car was there from September to Thanksgiving last year. Even though I disconnected the battery and drove it about a month in, the battery was dead as a doornail when I was ready to leave in November. The shop has a quick start device they'll lend you though.
I think the lot size is a little smaller now due to construction, so call ahead to make sure there's space. They reimbursed me the cost of a greyhound ticket.
Definitely beats a bus ride. I took the bus back to Springfield to get my truck after I drove my car home. Painful as usual.
I'll be back at the terminal probably the week of 9/14 to test out my first student, would love to meet some fellow TTers when I'm there.
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
I just got into my room. So far, no roomie. I'm not sure if I'll get one. I didn't ask if girls only have girl roommates. The room is a room and nice enough considering it's free and has a bed. I also got a nice large packet of paperwork. I did forget to confirm that there aren't classes tomorrow due to the holiday. I will have to go back down and check. It was a mega long trip. So, now for a shower and finally eating this salad I bought a while ago which may be bad by now. We'll see! I was told I won't get a meal card until Tuesday so I'm on my own for meals tomorrow it seems. Walmart is pretty close. I'll switch over to the training forum once I've gotten started. Thanks to everyone who has offered info.
Ken, if you're around tomorrow still and want to sit down with that cup of tea, I'd be happy to. I'll PM you in a couple minutes.

Glad you made it alright. Allow me to save you a trip, though. We most certainly do not have any classes today. The only thing they asked of us for Today is a quick trip to the simulator lab. You should have received a laminated, colored piece of paper that acts as a pass to the simulator lab. Take this along with the packet of forms you received to the lab. We are to fill out some medical information. Outside of this, complete all other forms on your own time (EXCEPT FOR THE PAYMENT CONTRACT) so that you'll be prepared on Tuesday.
As for anything else, I'm around today. Feel free to let me know if you'd like help getting to/from Walmart, lunch, etc. It's not a long walk, though. I made it myself, yesterday, to keep myself busy.

I sent you a PM Jonathan.

Thanks for the info, that is good news and solves my problem.
Will you be looking for another trainee after your student passes his test?

I may be looking for another student, but I'm not certain yet. I got home this weekend because the load we have brought us through here. I had been planning to get home 9/25 for an event, but now I may just stay out and run to make some money. I'll decide later this week. If I do plan on home time, I won't take a student till after that; if not, I'll probably take a student after he tests out.
I'll post here when I know what date I'm getting back to Springfield.

Haha, you're not wrong. Every time I passed a Prime truck on my trip here, I passed it too quickly to get a decent glimpse at it. On the flip-side, their snail-speed reaps the rewards.
