I do not have my CDL. I am going to school for my CDL starting the week of Labor Day. I have heard that some trainers are incredibly rough and hard on you. I do appreciate that to an extent because I do better with the whole hands on experience. I hope I don't have the 'cart before the pony' but I wanted your experienced input. What kind of questions should you ask your trainer? I am the type of person to walk away and say wow, why didn't I ask them about that.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Trust me the questions will roll in in due time... just sit back listen and enjoy one hell of a ride..... not all trainers are bad just stick it out and you will be in your own truck in no time
