Robert E. Low started Prime in Urbana, Missouri, in 1970 with one dump truck. Robert's vision of providing the ultimate in customer satisfaction enabled Prime to expand rapidly to become a $50 million operation by 1980, when the company relocated corporate headquarters to Springfield, Missouri.

Since 1986, Prime has experienced a steady growth in revenue every year. Prime's personnel, equipment, and technology remains on the cutting edge of the transportation industry, and the company's growth remains steady and well-managed.   • Length Of Training At Prime

    The training at Prime will last approximately 14 weeks.

    Obtain a minimum of 50,000 training miles with a TNT Trainer after earning your CDL.

  • Prime Average Pay During Training

    You will average approximately $700 per week during your training.

    Before 40,000 miles is reached, you will be paid $700/week guarantee as long as you are available for dispatch.

    After 40,000 miles is reached until upgrade, you will be paid $800/week guarantee as long as you are available for dispatch.

  • Solo Versus Team Dispatch During Training

    You are dispatched as a team during training with Prime

  • Solo Versus Team Operation After Training

    At Prime you will run solo after training.

Prime Inc. Minimum Hiring Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old with a valid license from your state of permanent residence including a tanker endorsement
  • Be able to obtain United States Passport, TWIC Card, and Hazmat Endorsement
  • Have a verifiable work history and references
  • Have an acceptable motor vehicle record
  • Must be able to pass a physical compliant to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Standards
  • If any failed or refused drug or alcohol related test, must provide proof of completed Substance Abuse Counseling to consider

  • Basic Life Insurance: $15,000 Natural Death / $30,000 Accidental Death Benefit
  • 401-K Success Sharing Plan is available to company drivers beginning the first full quarter after being employed with Prime for 6 months. Associates can place up to 75% of their pay into the plan pre-tax. Prime's 401-K profit sharing matching amount is 100% of the first 3% deferred; 50% on the next 2%.
  • Paid Vacation Requirements after 1 year. 125,000-250,000 miles: 1 week, 375,000-500,000: 2 weeks, 625,000-1,125,000: 3 weeks, 1,250,000+: 4 weeks.
  • Home Policy: Gives a driver 24 hours off for every 7 days worked.

    Prime has the following home time options available:

    Prime has dedicated, regional, and OTR opportunities available, and home time will vary. Most drivers for Prime are out 3 to 4 weeks at a time. Company drivers earn one day of home time for every week they are out on the road.

  • Prime Rider Policy

    Passenger Policy: allows a maximum of 1 passenger, 12 years and older.

  • Prime Tuition Reimbursement

    Recent graduates from other schools may qualify for tuition reimbursement up to $1500.

  • Prime Pet Policy

    Pet Policy: Prime Inc. is pleased to allow driving associates to have a single pet on their truck. The pet policy provides a weight limit of 30 pounds and requires a refundable pet deposit. The deposit can be paid in full up front or financed over a 6 week period.

Prime runs in 48 states and Canada, and requires drivers to be able to obtain a U.S. Passport.
