If eligible, it's the driver's choice to participate in the Per Diem Program.
Werner pays 12 cents per mile for per diem, which is 12 cents that is non-taxable pay.

Tuition reimbursement up to $7,500
No breed or size restrictions. One dog or one cat. $250 deposit, $5 per week fee. Shots must be kept up to date.
Designed to support and attract talented, motivated military veterans as they transition to a new career, Werner’s Professional Truck Driver Apprenticeship Program has helped more than 3,200 students.
Veteran hires have increased significantly throughout the past few years, comprising about 20 percent of Werner’s professional driver workforce and 15 percent of all company associates. In April 2013, Werner and the Operation Freedom program were recognized for their support of the military by Joining Forces, the White House military employment campaign, at an event hosted by President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden.
