1985 - 1986: Max Fuller and Patrick Quinn establish partnership and begin the formation of U.S. Xpress, Inc. U.S. Xpress begins operation with 48 trucks and hauls its first load on January 21st.
1990: U.S. Xpress lauded by Inc. Magazine as one of the 500 fastest growing private companies in the nation, growing by over 1,000 percent from 1985-89; U.S. Xpress begins a series of acquisitions of truckload carriers, highlighted by the addition of Southwest Motor Freight, Hall Systems, Lima Transport, CSI/Reeves.
2010: Daimler Trucks North America honors U.S. Xpress Co-Chairman & CEO Max Fuller in August, commemorating the purchase of the 50,000th Freightliner truck in Max's transportation career that spans four decades. With a compounded annual growth of 16 percent since 1994, 8,000 tractors and 22,000 trailers, U.S. Xpress Enterprises now stands as the nation's 3rd largest privately-owned truckload carrier.
