Update: so yesterday was only DOT physical and drug test, also some computer videos and test about company's procedure, today tuesday i finished all computer stuff and im in a simulator doing some training, prime is focusing on auto transmission only, i requested a manual but my chances are very slim.

Today i will just focus on finishing the simulator training.

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

Day 3 its over, i passed my simulator test, very easy. We started studying pre-trip inspection and waiting for final clearance from prime maybe tomorrow we are good to go! I must say that the pretrip is hard because its a lot to memorize but im doing my best, i was shown how to do a alley dock and offset backing but i can't try it until i get cleared by prime.

Lets see tomorrow

Pre-trip Inspection:

A pre-trip inspection is a thorough inspection of the truck completed before driving for the first time each day.

Federal and state laws require that drivers inspect their vehicles. Federal and state inspectors also may inspect your vehicles. If they judge a vehicle to be unsafe, they will put it “out of service” until it is repaired.

Cristian, memorizing the PTI as if it’s a script has a limited benefit. You need to understand what you are looking at, what you are looking for and why it’s important.

Please take the time to study and learn it. These links might help...

Doing pre trip is far more than memorizing a bunch of words. It's about knowing what to look for and recognizing if something is wrong. Is there a leak? Does all the lights work? Something look off with that right steer? Did some jerk pull the fifth wheel release? All these and many more could lead to a very bad day if not caught by doing a pre/post trip inspection.
