How didnt they teach you? What are you struggling with?
I went to a CDL school and they didn't teach me what i needed passed my pre trip and have been practicing on the maneuvers still kind of iffy on it but trying and I'm running out of time because my CDL permit expires in April any suggestions on what to do
Have you done the Pre-trip "My Way" here?
Best darn version out there!

I'm also wondering what they didn't help you with regarding the pre-trip? Did they teach you anything at all? Did they not teach you what to look for or what to say during the test, etc? It'll be good to know so the people of TT can help you out.
This might also help you out, and I wouldn't worry about the permit expiring to much. You could always renew it, assuming you have to re-take the tests again.
A pre-trip inspection is a thorough inspection of the truck completed before driving for the first time each day.
Federal and state laws require that drivers inspect their vehicles. Federal and state inspectors also may inspect your vehicles. If they judge a vehicle to be unsafe, they will put it “out of service” until it is repaired.

I'm sure I misread your thread, sorry about that. I thought you mentioned you failed on your pre-trip, I'm probably to tired.
Re read that guys. I think she meant "i passed my pre trip, but still working on backing"
Backing is all about reference points. Ask for the.points and it can be done. If the permit expires, cant you just re take the written test to renew it?

Yeah I replied twice before I realized that's what she meant.
Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.
Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

Yep! Me too! (That's one of the many reasons Rainy is a moderator!)
EVERYONE NEEDS HELP WITH BACKING!
I'll let the Masters and Rookie Solo Drivers who have figured it out chime in on that one!
I can help with backing to pass the test, if that is the issue. Real world... NSM!
Good luck to you!
Sounds to me that Roberta needs help in more areas than just backing because if her school failed her, it was likely more areas than one. After I got my CDL , which in my case was an acronym for Clueless, Dumb and Lacking, I still was a pitiful backer. I only started to “get it” during company training because of some wonderfully skilled instructors. Even then, I only got good at it after I was forced to do it on my own without help and nobody watching. But we won’t know what to say to Roberta until she gives more detail as to what specific areas she needs help in.
