I was reading through the high road manual but maybe I missed the section of the pre trip I am guess and would like to study it so I am ahead of the game...

A pre-trip inspection is a thorough inspection of the truck completed before driving for the first time each day.
Federal and state laws require that drivers inspect their vehicles. Federal and state inspectors also may inspect your vehicles. If they judge a vehicle to be unsafe, they will put it “out of service” until it is repaired.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
I also seem to recall Rainy (I hope I have this right) being sent home from two programs before she landed and excelled where she is now. That was and is a fear of mine.
I believe you are referring to Old Schools rough start. He attended a Private CDL School and passed just fine. I believe several COMPANIES turned him down for EMPLOYMENT before landing at Western Express, where he excelled. That "rough start" landed him where he is today. BIG difference from washing out of two training programs!

Marc, You seem to be a nice guy, but you are WAY OVERTHINKING EVERYTHING. Find a Company willing to take you on, ANY COMPANY. Get out there and bust your ass for a solid year. No "rookie mistakes" that involve property damage. No late pick ups or deliveries, No HOS violations, etc. That will set the stage for ultimate success in this industry. You can do it, just GET IT GOING!!!

Had the very same thought myself!
So, no. I have never been to another company. And yes, anyone can be sent home from orientation, even Marc Lee.
Sorry Rainy, I got it wrong!
Another author/driver.
Her book was a great read!

Wow, really? Is it finally starting to dawn on you that you've been arguing for like 36 hours now and maybe that's enough? We wouldn't have anything to debate if you would stop trying to validate your failed plans and stop trying to poke holes in our theories all the time now would we?
It's doubly ironic this entire debate started after I just posted that message about who we are and what we do, explaining that sometimes we have to get a little gruff with certain people because it's hard to get things through their thick skulls. It's also hard for some people to understand that when you're brand new to something and you have no knowledge or experience it might be best to listen when people with decades of success at the highest level are offering advice.
....or you could go directly against all of our advice, make a flaming wreck out of your career, try like crazy to validate all of your bad decisions, try to poke holes in all of our theories, then wonder why the debate goes on for so long.
Good grief.
Someone should be brought up on animal cruelty chatges for repeated beating of a dead horse.
