Sorry, just saw this now. Do you have a recruiter at Knight that you have been talking with, If you do, and are not getting anywhere, Id recommend calling the main terminal number. They usually will assign you a recruiter based on your area. Im out of Denver, While they may be having high attendance, If its who you want to go for, Id be banging down their doors. A closed mouth doesnt get fed. I pestered the snot out of my recruiter lol.

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
- Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
- Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
- Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
- Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.
Terminal:
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

I would suggest applying to every company that offers paid training. Once you see who bites then you can “narrow down” When you don’t have a cdl or experience it’s not the scenario of companies beating down your door that most folks think. See who gives you a chance and then pick. Good luck!

Try Schneider. Company paid CDL training program starts in January. Schneider quit training students for their CDL long ago, but that program will resume in January 2022.
Great training program, stable employment, advancement opportunities, excellent equipment, steady flow of work. Intermodal pays very well.

Intermodal:
Transporting freight using two or more transportation modes. An example would be freight that is moved by truck from the shipper's dock to the rail yard, then placed on a train to the next rail yard, and finally returned to a truck for delivery to the receiving customer.
In trucking when you hear someone refer to an intermodal job they're normally talking about hauling shipping containers to and from the shipyards and railyards.
Ok so started process with Prime Inc.
Of course gotta do medical and drug test before orientation, should be no problem.
Now the CDL permit, are there places to study for it here? Should I look at getting add ons this first time or wait?

Ok so been studying like crazy, get 85 to 95% on every practice test.
When I go do I need to have my medical and drug screen first? Or can I just got get my permit?
Will it just be a general knowledge exam? Im doing like 50 question tests right now.

Ok so took general studies test, passed at 90%, but they said I need to take the "Combo" test as well.
Sure tried my hand at it, got a 46%. SO. I need to study for that now.
